Being one of the five sacred pilgrimage sites, Pushkar is a very popular place for devout Hindus. The Pushkar Lake is said to be created by Lord Brahma hismself and happens to be the primary place of attraction. Pushkar is considered as the ‘King of Pilgrimages’ as the Brahma temple situated on the bank of Pushkar lake is one of the very few in the world.

Brahma Temple

Brahma Temple in Pushkar is one of the most famous and only few of the temples dedicated to Lord Brahma in the holy city of Pushkar, Rajasthan. This Pushkar It is the place of deep spirituality and thousands of devotees come here to pay homage. It is dedicated to lord Brahma and the only Brahma temple anywhere in the world. This temple has a four-headed idol of Lord Brahma which is magnificent.

Brahma Temple Pushkar Timings: The temple is open for worship between 6:30 am and 8:30 pm during winter and 6:00 am to 9:00 pm during summer, with an interval in afternoon between 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm when the temple is closed.

Savitri Temple

Pushkar is surrounded on three sides by hills. One of the hills is known as Ratnagiri., the highest on the southwest which houses the Goddess Savitri, the estranged wife of Brahma. The Savitri temple hill is around 750 feet elevated by nearby surroundings. Now the ropeway services also available for reach at the temple.

Gaytri Temple

The Gaytri Temple also known as Pap Mochini temple. The Pap Mochini temple in Pushkar is located on the Norten peak of the city. This is considered to be the sacred temple of Hindus where all sin are absolved. The temple is dedicated to “Gaytri”the Gujjar girl whom Brahma married to perform a Yagna instead of waiting for his wife Savitri. The temple is also know as Gaytri Peeth. A visit to the Pap Mochini temple will be a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Pushkar Sarovar

The Pushkar Lake is a semi-circular shaped sacred water body, also known as ‘TirthaRaj’. According to the Hindu mythology, the lake was created from one of the petals that fell from the lotus flower with which Lord Bramha killed the demon Vajra Nabh. The Pushkar Lake is surrounded by more than 300 temples and has 52 ghats, where devotes take holy bath. It is a belief if a person taken a holy dip in the lake on Karthik Purnima, then that person attains salvation it is also a belief that taking a sacred bath in the lake clear one from all sins and that it cures all skin diseases.

Pushkar Sarovar Sandhya Aarti Timings: You can attend aarti ceremony at any of the ghats but evening aarti at Varah Ghat is highly recommended. It commences at 7:00 pm during summers and 05:30 pm during winters.

Dargah Sarif

The Ajmer Dargah Sarif also known as “Khwaja Mounidhin Chisti Darhgah”. Ajmer Sharif consists of several white marble buildings arranged around two courtyards, including a massive gate donated by the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Akbari Mosque, built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.The dargah contains the domed tomb of the saint. Approximately, around 125,000 pilgrims visit the site every day.

Dargah Timings: The Dargah Sarif opening timing is in winter 05:00AM to 09:00PM and in summer 04:00 AM to 10:00PM.

Old Rangaji Temple

One of the most popular temples of Pushkar, Old Rangji Temple reflects a mesh of Mughal and Rajput architecture. The high-risingGopuram also reflects South Indian architecture, and adds more charm to whole temple. Along with the idol of Lord Rangji, idols of Lord Krishna, Goddamaj, Shri Ramanujacharya and Goddess Lakshmi are installed inside the temple Complex. There are seven other shrines of Lord with one shikara each.

New Rangaji Temple

Ramavaikunth is a Hindu temple. in Pushkar, dedicated to Lord Rama. Lord Rama is one of the inarnations of Lord Vishnu. Since it is perched at a hilltop, one can also savor the beautiful Pushkar City from here. There are about 361 images of Hindu gods here, and this has special significance for the devotes.

Varah Temple

Dedicated to Varaha, Lord Vishnu’s incarnation in the form of a wild boar. According to the legend , LordVishnu took an avtar of half boar – half man while he was coming to the earth to slay the demon Hiranyaksha, who threatened to destroy all life, Lord Vishnu had also killed his elder brother, Hiranyakashyip. This is why; Lord Vishnu is called the Preserver in Hindu mythology.

Shri Chitrakuth Dham

Shree Chitrkuth Dham is first and Only one unique temple in world with its unique combination of 11 feet height and 15 feet long Shivling with Lord hanuman. It is located in Pushkar. Within a 5 mintues distance from Brahma temple of Pushkar.

Pushkar Fair

Pushkar Fair is a mega event of Rajasthan in which thousands of camel owners come to Pushkar city to take part in events and sell purchase activities of their cattle. This festival has religious origins that draw pilgrims from far and wide to this festival to bathe in the holy waters of Pushkar’s Lake. The two days around the full moon are considered to be the most auspicious time of the year for bathing in the lake. It is believed to absolve their sins with the holy waters. Sadhus, holy gurus, and people from all walks of life come to take a dip in the lake.

Festival Date: The Pushkar Fair is celebrated every year on the holy Karthik Purnima. Pushkar Fair 2020 will start from 22nd November 2020 to 30th November 2020.

Pushkar Holi Festival

Pushkar Holi has got a different identity among all the holi played in India. Holi is the spring festival of India, celebrated by playing with vibrant colors. Not only Local people but all over world foreign tourists l take participation in Pushkar Holi with great enthusiasm. on the day special programs organize by Pushkar association at varah ghat and other ghats eg. Kapda Fad holi, dance, singing, etc.

Festival Date: Pushkar Holi is celebrated every year on the Falgun Purnima. Pushkar Holi 2021 will be celebrated on 28th March & 29th March 2021.

Gurudwara

According to the history, this place was visited in the past by the two most famous Sikh Gurus – Guru Gobind Singh and Guru Nanak Dev during their travel to Rajputana States in 1706. There is a hukamnama inscribed on bhojpatra which states that it was presented to priest Chetan Das by Guru Gobind Singh, which is still in possession of the serving priest here now. The main priest also possesses a handwritten copy of Guru Granth Sahib – the religious scripture of Sikhism.
